How does the program work?

A surrogate mother bears a child that is genetically related to one or both of the intended parents and has no biological relationship to herself. In this case, pregnancy is achieved by in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure, where an embryo, made of the genetic material of the intended parents, is transferred into the uterine cavity of the surrogate mother.

Who might have surrogacy?

In Kyrgyzstan, surrogacy programs are available to all categories of patients, including married couples, unmarried couples, and single women.

It is also allowed to use different categories of biological material. It can be embryos made from gametes of intended parents, as well as those made with the assistance of donor sperm or donor eggs. Fertility specialist transfers the obtained embryos into the uterine cavity of the surrogate mother. Then, following a 10 to 12-day period of waiting for the result, a blood test for hCG shows whether pregnancy has occurred.
